Most dedicated RV and boat storage around Austin is outside the urban core, in three main areas. Lake Travis boaters can choose Austin Lakeside in Spicewood near Pace Bend Park, Lake Travis RV & Boat in Hudson Bend, Easy St. in Jonestown near the northern ramps, and Longhorn Boat & Camper and Park Place on the RR 620 / Anderson Mill side. Lake Austin Storage sits on Terjo Ln. The largest group is along the northern I-35 and RM 2243 corridors: Leander (Rocky Top, RecNation), Liberty Hill (Patriot), Round Rock (Bluewater, Executive Enclosed), Hutto (Affordable Storage, Continental) and many lots in Georgetown, including Shell Road, Georgetown RV & Boat, Oasis, Hill Country and 5 Star. How to choose RV or boat storage
- Measure first. Use overall length including the hitch/tongue and any rear rack, and height including A/C units, antennas or a boat tower. Ask whether the listed space size is the usable length.
- Covered vs. enclosed vs. open. A canopy blocks sun and hail; an enclosed garage also blocks dust, wind and prying eyes. Decide based on how long the rig sits and what you'd otherwise spend on covers and repairs.
- Power. “Electric” usually means a low-amp outlet for a battery tender, not a full hookup. Ask about amperage, extra fees, and whether running a fridge or A/C is allowed.
- Access. Check gate hours against when you actually leave for trips. Early departures and late returns matter.
- Security. Look for perimeter fencing, coded entry and exit, cameras that record, lighting and an on-site manager. Ask what their insurance requires of you.
- Maneuvering. Pull-through spaces and wide paved aisles make big rigs and solo parking much easier.
- Extras. Dump station, water fill, wash bay, air and propane can save a stop on every trip.
- Contract terms. Ask about minimum terms, admin fees, deposits, required insurance, documents (registration/title) and how rate increases work.
- Waitlists. Popular covered sizes can sell out. Ask to be added to a waitlist and when spaces usually open up.
Austin-specific tips
- Near the lake usually means a waitlist. At Austin Lakeside (Pace Bend), the open 30 ft, enclosed 35 ft and every covered size were waitlisted, with one enclosed 40 ft unit left. Executive Enclosed's pull-through units and Onion Creek's 12x30 parking also had waitlists. Ask to be added early, or look north to Georgetown and Hutto, where more sizes were available to rent online.
- Check gate hours before a dawn launch. Lake Travis RV & Boat is open 8am-7pm, Easy St. 6am-10pm, RecNation Leander 6am-10pm and Bergstrom 5am-10pm. Austin Lakeside, Longhorn, Shell Road, Oasis, Bluewater, Hill Country, Patriot, 5 Star and Executive Enclosed list 24-hour access.
- Read the promotion terms. Affordable Storage in Hutto showed first month free on canopy spaces and 50% off enclosed units. Hill Country offered one month free with a three-month stay on select spaces plus a 1-year rate lock. Bergstrom showed 50% off for two months. Oasis charges a $25 admin fee, and Austin Lakeside and Shell Road quote prices before sales tax.
- Want to plug in a battery tender? Shell Road's covered spaces have a dedicated trickle-charge circuit. Executive Enclosed has a 15-amp plug in every unit. Hill Country provides 110V power for trickle charging only, and Austin Lakeside's covered spaces have a 30-amp outlet. Bluewater and Affordable Storage advertise 30/50-amp power on select premium spaces.
- If you'd rather not haul your tanks home, Bluewater, Hill Country, Patriot, RecNation Leander, Executive Enclosed and Affordable Storage list an on-site dump station. Several of them also offer potable water and air.

How much does RV storage cost in Austin?
Of the 30 facilities listed, 16 publish monthly rates on their own websites; see the Price column for each one and its source link. Prices vary with length, covered vs. open, and promotions, so confirm the current rate with the facility.
What's the difference between covered, enclosed and outdoor storage?
Outdoor (open) spaces are a paved or gravel parking spot. Covered spaces add a roof (canopy) but are open on the sides. Enclosed or indoor storage is a garage-style unit with walls and a door, sometimes temperature-controlled. Protection and price generally rise in that order.
Can I keep my RV plugged in?
Some facilities offer power at the space, usually low-amp outlets meant for battery tenders/trickle chargers, not full hookups. Use the “Electric” filter, then ask the facility what amperage is provided and whether there's an extra fee.
Do RV storage facilities have waitlists?
Popular sizes (especially long covered spaces) can sell out. Where an operator states limited availability or a waitlist, we note it in the listing. Otherwise call to ask whether there is a waitlist for your size.

Where can I store a big Class A motorhome near Austin?
Look for long spaces. Affordable Storage in Hutto lists a 20x80 pull-through enclosed unit, Bergstrom lists enclosed spaces up to 14x80, Hill Country has 12x70 covered pull-throughs, and Shell Road allows uncovered spaces up to 60 ft.
